Welcome to the Association OPEN DOOR

The Association Open Door exists to encourage the practical exchange of cultural information
and experience between French and English-speaking people residing permanently or part-time
in the Limousin and surrounding areas.

Singalong

1. In the end, 40 paying guests was a good number in view of the fact that we chose the start of school holidays in France and UK when many people weren't available. Our numbers were higher than might be expected as a result of the impact of our Tolkien readings (12 extra people).

2. A positive outcome was the help which we received from members outside of the committee - Alan Whitten, Doug Craig and Gisèle Bouysse.

3. This was the first time that we've decided to use outside caterers - and by coincidence the first time that the Auberge at Compeix has catered on-the-spot in this style. All the reports have been very favourable - excellent beef burgers, veggie burgers and chips all freshly-cooked at 10€ per head.

4. Our outlay for food and the musicians obviously affected our profit -all of which came from bar sales and we took a risk in buying Peak Ales cask beer and transporting it from UK. Happily, we sold all of the cask beer and have a stock of bottled British beer for future events.
