Best-Ever Turnout for
Beaujolais Nouveau Evening
We had our biggest turnout ever for the Beaujolais Nouveau Evening in
St. Pardoux on Friday 22nd November with lots of our guests being new faces to our events.
Last year was our first attempt to hold a Beaujolais evening and, as
always, we set out to make it different from other similar Nouveau Evenings by introducing
British cheese onto our buffet menu. We also decided to be responsible for the quality of
the wine that people
were offered. It was a risk, with the Association standing all the cost
and hoping that people would be prepared to pay, but 40 people turned up!
This year we took an even bigger risk and provided a wider range of
British cheese specially brought over from the UK and returned to our wine supplier in the
Dordogne and found an excellent Nouveau from the same vineyard as last year –
decisions that were fully justified.
Our 62 members and guests emptied every bottle of Beaujolais, ate every
morsel of British cheese plus a range of charcuterie – and pronounced it all
EXCELLENT!!!
A big Thank You to everyone who helped with finding, buying and
transporting the food and wine and those helped on the night.
Gros succès pour la soirée Beaujolais Nouveau
Affluence ce vendredi 22 novembre à St Pardoux pour la
soirée Beaujolais: beaucoup de nouveaux participants ont rejoint les « habitués ».
Nous avons organisé cette manifestation
l’année dernière pour la
première fois en y ajoutant notre touche personnelle : Beaujolais + fromages en partie
anglais. Notre souhait était également d’offrir un Beaujolais
Nouveau de qualité .C’était un risque
;celui ci s’est avéré payant le Beaujolais a remporté
tous les suffrages des 40 participants.
Cette année nous avons décidé de
proposer un plus large choix de fromages anglais en direct d’Angleterre accompagnés de chutney(merci
à nos adhérents).Nous avons
décidé de retourner dans même cave pour acheter le Beaujolais au
même viticulteur :bonne idée ,de l’avis de tout le monde il était EXCELLENT.
Les 62 convives présents ont apprécié
: tout a disparu ,le vin, les fromages et les charcuteries.....
Un grand merci à ceux qui ont permis la réussite
de cette soirée.
