Thank you to everyone who turned up to the preview of the library opening on Monday 5th June and especially those who worked so hard to have the building, the books and the refreshments ready on time.
 
The library will be open, initially, 3 times a week while we identify the requirements of our members – Mon 2 - 5, Thurs 9 – 12 and Sat 2 – 5. New members can sign up during opening hours, there is no limit on the number of books borrowed and no fine for late return. Members wishing to help with staffing are always welcome, contact Heather Norman if you want to volunteer.
 
Members who visited the chapel at Saillant on 18th May may be interested to know about the Music Festival which takes place in the Brive/Tulle area between 12 July and 22 Aug with many of the events taking place in the Chateau Saillant. Isabelle de Lasteyrie du Saillant who, with her husband, commissioned the Chagall windows is the founder of the festival. More information on www.festival-vezere.com
 
Congratulations to our members David and Lesley Lewis for their successful Open Gardens event on Sun 11th June which raised a substantial amount for charities in France. Visitors were able to not only see Lesley's excellent gardens but also tour the authentic 16th Century Chateau largely restored by David. Next Sunday 18th June Gill and David Broadhurst will be opening their garden in St. Amand le Petit (10 – 6) and will have a selection of plants on sale as well as tea, coffee and cakes!
 
The association's next event is a local event. A short nature walk with Max Richer from SEPOL (Soc. for the study and protection of birds in the Limousin) on Sat 1 July. Meet on the Cascades d'Augerolles Parking Area for an 8.30 start. We'll explore the forest and heath around Augerolles and time/weather permitting make a tour of the cascades. Merci à tous ceux qui ont assisté à l'aperçu de l'ouverture de la bibliothèque le lundi 5 juin et surtout à ceux qui ont travaillé si fort pour que le bâtiment, les livres et les rafraîchissements soient prêts à temps.

La bibliothèque sera ouverte, initialement, 3 fois par semaine alors que nous identifions les exigences de nos membres - Lundi 14.00 – 17.00, Jeudi 9.00-12.00, Samedi 14.00- 17.00. Les nouveaux adherents peuvent s'inscrire pendant les heures d'ouverture, il n'y a pas de limite le nombre de livres emprunté et l'absence de remboursement tardif. Les adherents souhaitant aider à la dotation sont toujours les bienvenus, communiquez avec Heather Norman si vous souhaitez vous offrir un bénévolat.

Félicitations à nos adhérents David et Lesley Lewis pour leur réussi événement Open Gardens le dimanche 11 juin, ce qui a considérablement augmenté pour les organismes de bienfaisance en France. Les visiteurs ont pu non seulement voir les excellents jardins de Lesley, mais également visiter l'authentique château du XVIe siècle restauré en grande partie par David. Le dimanche prochain 18 juin, Gill et David Broadhurst ouvriront leur jardin à Saint-Amand le Petit (10 à 18hrs) et auront une sélection de plantes en vente, ainsi que du thé, du café et des gâteaux!

Le prochain événement de l'association est un événement local. Une petite promenade en nature avec Max Richer de SEPOL (Soc. Pour l'étude et la protection des oiseaux en Limousin) le samedi 1 juillet. Rendez-vous sur la zone de stationnement Cascades d'Augerolles pour un départ de 8.30hrs. Nous allons explorer la forêt et la bruyère autour d'Augerolles et le temps / temps permettant de faire un tour des cascades. Contactez Heather si vous avez l'intention de venir.
